Those interacting with families during and following a crisis situation play an important dual role in not only helping staff members and their loved ones during stressful situations, but also concurrently looking after the wider interests of the organization. Despite the importance of this complex role, training and exercising is rarely provided to help HR professionals and other managers to explore, develop, become confident and capable in, and practice the unique requirements of the Family Liaison Officer [FLO] function. This places managers in an uncomfortable and unfamiliar position during a crisis, while exposing the organization to avoidable legal and reputational risks. The FLO course builds knowledge and confidence in how to prepare for, respond to, manage, and then transition and recover from a crisis situation which requires FLO involvement [arguably for the majority of crisis situations]. The course provides proven best practice strategies and methodologies for leaders, with multiple real-life scenarios through which participants can put their knowledge into practice – including the use of professional role players to bring life to the learning experience.
COST: $1,325 and includes breakfast, lunch, coffee/snacks and certifications.
